Dr. Shannon Sampert

Dr. Sampert is a journalist, media consultant and academic with a research portfolio that focuses on gender, media and Canadian politics and law. She was the recipient of the Eakins Fellowship at the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada where she taught Public Affairs. She now teaches regularly at the University of Manitoba after retiring from the University of Winnipeg. She also is a regular political columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press, where she was the first female editor of the editorial board. Her recent contracts include Policy Options and the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources.
